ICAN of Central Iowa has a library of over 40 books that are available to borrow by request (to icaniowa at yahoo dot com), or at any ICAN meeting. You can view a list of current books by visiting our Chapter's page at LibraryThing. Please take a minute to review our library procedures.
Books available for Purchase
ICAN also has several books available for purchase from our Chapter. Books will be shipped by Media Mail. Consider purchasing an ICAN subscription at the same time you purchase your books to take advantage of the "subscriber" discount. You may also purchase books from ICAN International.
Chapter Librarian will bring some basic cesarean prevention, cesarean recovery, and vbac books to the meeting each month. (Books with “Meeting” tag.) Other books can be left at Librarian’s home or rotated so they all come to a meeting at some point.
To check out a book, a person can either:
Pick one of the books available at a meeting.
Put in a request to the librarian ahead of the meeting, and she will be sure that book is available.
Call or email the librarian to pick up a book at her house.
Notes
Let the librarian know if you are checking out a book, and she will keep track of who has which book.
Check out period is one month.
Book can be renewed unless book has been reserved by another person.
If book is lost, borrower must replace book or pay replacement price.
